How to build self-confidence

Hello friends! Today our topic is 'how to build self confidence'.

We all have struggled from self confidence at some point of time in our life, and we have told ourselves that if only I was a little more confident I could have achieve a lot than this.

Confidence is not something that can be learned like a set of rules; confidence is a state of mind. Positive thinking, practice, training, knowledge and talking to other people are all useful ways to help improve or boost your confidence levels.

How to build up self confidence?

First let's understand what is self-confidence?                                                      Although self-confidence can mean different things to different people, in reality it simply means your trust on your abilities. There are 3 pillars to build up our confidence in any field. If we understand it deeply then our performance will be improved. And the 3 pillars are -

  1. Passion
  2. Practice
  3. Patience

We will have to be passionate towards anything that we are doing. It must not be done by being forced.  If we do the work with lots of practice then the confidence is automatically built in us. The most important thing is patience. Because after getting excellence we have to maintain patience.

Now, get reed of negative people. Remove them from the sphere of attention and don't let someone else's approval dictate your own happiness.

Talk to more people

Make more conversation with a variety of people.                                                          Help more people. When you do this many people start trusting you and that raises your level of endorphins and and your self-confidence.

Reading

Confidence has to be backed up by skills, knowledge and experience to be lasting source of self-confidence. I find reading books to be a great source of self-confidence because it not only gives you knowledge it helps you make better conversation with people. Due to which our confidence of speech increases.

Other thing due to which our confidence decreases is self-doubt.

What is a self-doubt?

Sometimes we don't understand that others are doing the work so well but why can't we?   This is called self-doubt, which results in lack of confidence.

At some points in our lives, we question whether we are doing well enough or are capable of facing all the uncertainties that might come up as we grow older. We experience feelings of self-doubt around decisions and choices we made or simply feel that we’re not good enough.

A certain level of self-doubt is good because it indicates that you understand what you need to improve in order to do a better job. However, persistent fear and self-doubt can hugely affect your life in a bad way.

If persistent self-doubt is not addressed, it can lead to:

⚫Anxiety

⚫Depression

⚫Procrastination or lack of motivation

⚫Emotional instability

⚫Low self-esteem

⚫Difficulty making decisions

☛How to overcome this?

So, how can you deal with self-doubt in a constructive way? Here you go👉

1. Remember Your Past Achievements

→ Some times it is not good to focus on our past failures instead focusing on past achievement will give you courage to overcome self-doubt.

2. Try to Not Compare Yourself to Others

→Everyone's journey and ideas and of success is different. Remember that there is a good thing in each person and even remember that every person cannot do what you can do. So, stop comparing yourself with others.

3. Spend time with supportive people.

The friends and family members in our lives who believe in us and everything that we’re capable of will always be on our side. When you’re feeling self-doubt, surround yourself with these people. They can remind you of how talented and resilient you are during times when you’re not feeling that way about yourself.

4. Identify your values.

Take a moment to asses your values
and what matters most to you. It may be that you’re kind to others, you’re a good friend, or that you contribute to something meaningful in your life. When we recognise these values and what truly matters to us, the fear of criticism from others falls by the wayside. And when we live aligned with our values, it doesn’t feel as detrimental to be criticized or make mistakes.

5. Keep a journal
→  Writing down your thoughts of self-doubt or experiences with imposter syndrome onto paper might be a good release. You may even realize after you see your concerns written down, that they may not be as detrimental as you thought they were. This can help to gradually overcome self-doubt.

This way you can definitely build up self confidence.
